Syttende Mai festivities end with our fun-filled parade, which is the highlight of the day. The parade features many Norwegian organizations with an impressive variety of Norwegian bunader. Children are always at the heart of our parade and we have a uniquely American perspective with marching bands, drill teams, and community groups. Seattle's Syttende Mai has become a community celebration.

The parade begins near Adams School in Ballard, at the corner of NW 62nd and 24th Avenue NW. The route follows south to Market Street and eastward to Bergen Place. Check-in is at NW 62nd and 28th Ave NW.

After sending in your application, you will only hear from the parade coordinators if they have a question about your application or for some reason your application is not accepted. Participants should arrive 1 hour early to receive parade # assignments. Winners will be announced on our website and in the Ballard News Tribune. Trophies may be picked up at Union Bank in Ballard.
