NORWEGIAN CONSTITUTION DAY

Join us for the biggest 17th of May celebration outside of Norway!

Welcome to Seattle’s popular 17th of May celebration, a.k.a. Syttende Mai [Soot-n-duh My]. Last year’s parade brought over 20,000 spectators to the streets of Ballard to see more than 100 groups, including marching bands, Norwegian-American lodges, drill teams, classic cars and much more — all for Norway’s Constitution Day.

We’re the 17th of May Committee, a 501(c) nonprofit, and we’d like you to join us for the 2013 festivities, an annual Nordic party in Seattle since 1889.

Men and women, teenagers and families. They all come together in a daylong festival of music and dance, kids activities, a luncheon featuring a Norwegian dignitary, and the parade, of course, that starts down a mile-long stretch of Ballard at 6 p.m.

We plan on making this year’s Syttende Mai better than ever while also raising funds for local charities and nonprofits.
