We are excited to announce that the Ballard 17th of May parade will be back in Ballard on May 17, 2022, starting at 6 p.m. Hipp hipp hipp hurra!
We are also excited to announce that this year’s Grand Marshal is Ambassador Anniken Ramberg Krutnes, Norway’s first woman ambassador to the United States.
Our Honorary Marshals are representatives from the Pacific Fishermen Shipyard in Ballard for their many years of service and support to our community.
There will be many more honored guests in attendance together with you. This is a day to celebrate our love for our community and the strong values that Norway and the United States share.
We will also celebrate the day with a gala luncheon at the National Nordic Museum.
LUNCHEON TICKETS ARE NOW SOLD OUT!
Read more about the luncheon here.
There will also be lots to do and see at the Museum throughout the day. The fabulous Fjord horses will be back to admire there before they trot through the streets of Ballard.
And don’t forget that there will be music at Bergen Place Park from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. with an all-star lineup featuring The Winter Family Band, the Norwegian Ladies Chorus, the Norwegian Male Chorus, and the amazing accordionists Sunnie and Leif.
And for the hungry, Scandinavian Specialties will be selling pølse, traditional Norwegian hot dogs (pølse med lompe) and Solo orange drink right at Bergen Place—yum!
Then, last but not least, the grand parade through the streets of Ballard will start at 6 p.m. Read all about this year’s parade here.
